For years, amateur chefs have been invited to submit recipes for the Maine Lobster Festival’s Seafood Cooking Contest.  The event has gained international attention, most recently covered by   Amateur chefs 18 years and older are welcome to compete for more than $500 in prize money at this popular event!

 

An experienced panel picks five contestants from a wide variety of thoughtful and creative applications to participate in the contest.  Selection is based on creativity, suitability of the seafood to the recipe, and simplicity.  All recipes must contain seafood found in Maine waters.

 

In addition to the food preparation, table placement is also a major factor in the competition.  Participants set their tables with appropriate settings, decorations, and beverages for the judges.

 

Thanks to primary sponsor Bangor Daily News and secondary sponsor Fiore Artisan Olive Oils and Vinegar,  The 2013 Seafood Cooking Contest will take place at 9:00 AM on Friday, August 2 in the North Entertainment Tent.
