Soul, Funk, and American Pie on tap for Lobster Festival

Legendary soul/funk artists Tower of Power will headline the Maine Lobster Festival in Rockland on Friday, July 31 and Singer-Songwriter Don McLean will star on Saturday, August 1.

Tower of Power is celebrating a long and illustrious career as a riveting stage act and a delightful hybrid of soul, funk, jazz and rock.  The legendary horn section – featured on dozens of top recordings – solid vocals, and irresistible rhythm section have made the band an international favorite and one of the most engaging shows anywhere.  Comedian Karen Morgan will open the show.

Songwriter Hall of Famer Don McLean is best known for writing and recording the huge hit, “American Pie” but has also struck chart-topping gold with such songs as “Vincent (Starry, Starry Night),” “Castles in the Air” and “And I Love You So”.  Maine Songwriter Amy Allen will open the show.

Tickets go on sale on Monday, June 8.  They are $25.00 for either show, click HERE to purchase online or at the Penobscot Bay Chamber of Commerce offices in Camden and Rockland.

Thursday night entertainment at the Festival will feature Maine artists including the Don Campbell Band, Schooner Fare, and Al Hawkes.  Seating for Thursday’s show is included in the Festival admission.
